Should I interview for a company if I’m most likely going to turn down an offer if I get one? I had a call with HR as well as a call with the actual manager I’d be working with. They’ve been MIA for three weeks and just now got back to me about another interview. I wasn’t too interested in the role which is why I wasn’t concerned about the time gap (the time gap makes me think they had given someone else an offer) ... currently interviewing with another firm and while I know interviews (cont)

Doesn’t hurt to do it if there’s even a remote chance you’ll consider the position. If not going to consider at all then why waste your time or theirs

I'd follow through, perhaps in the next interview the job becomes more intriguing because you learn about their 15% match or 8 weeks of PTO or their bring-your-dog-to-work policy or that they pay $20k more than market for your role...

are always good for the experience, I don’t wanna spend too much energy going back and forth between other companies and interviews

Assuming you are interviewing for multiple roles and you get multiple offers, it is typically easier to negotiate a salary with another offer on the table

Unsure about what to do.. worked as an analyst out of school for $60K 2017-2019. Left after 1yr due to a toxic work environment & to care for my grandpa who had cancer in 2019. Was out of work for 2 years & now have an offer in accounting for the government at $40K. Should I take it because any job is better than nothing or should I keep interviewing & wait for something more aligned with my goals & salary expectations. Don’t want to make the wrong choice again.

Wondering what people think about my situation. I’ve been offered a role with a company. The job description didn’t mention college degree as a requirement. On my CV I have a section listed as “Education” and under it I have “Business Studies” with the university name and the 3 years that I attended the course (2.5 to be exact). It’s a 4 year degree and under this I have my High School equivalent with the years I attended there. The education wasn’t mentioned in the interviews. Continued below.

Got news that my house closing may have to be moved due to a delay in the sale of my home. My partner’s income was excluded in the DI ratio, but if it were included we’d be well under the % threshold and can be approved to close on time regardless of the sale of my house. However our mortgage company’s underwriting team has been painfully slow in confirming if her income qualifies. She’s been at her new job 1 month after a year off. Anyone with underwriting experience have insight?

Can someone please elaborate on a better answer.

Also, Can someone shed some light on promotions?

Is there any policy, like you have to work for X years to be eligible for promotion etc.
