Signed up for CFA exam, but now feeling really unmotivated. I can either work extremely hard for a *chance* to pass the exam in 7 weeks or cut my losses and forget about the sunk cost (almost $1.5K)

Just get ur shit together and go study for it! "Shift in priorities", " unmotivated" : this is all bullshit. You know you can do it and you knew you can do when you signed up for it. Just stop being lazy and go study and take it!!! Good luck

I'm pretty sure there's a deferral option for level 1. It may have passed by now though. If you are a Cpa already that will help 25% is financial statement analysis and a lot of it is straight forward accounting topics. The rest is just formula heavy so just learn the formulas practice lots of multiple choice for level 1.

Just as a reference finished up level 3 this past June.

What to do?

OP, when did you sign up? Could you not have signed up at that time for the June 2017 exam instead (if you are taking Level 1)?

Signed up in July - was doing well with studying for about a month but then stopped, picked up again for a week, then stopped again. Now I'm thinking of getting back into it but I'm just not sure anymore. On top of that, I am taking an entire week of work off leading up to the exam , which I could use to review but then I think of the missed opportunity to use that time to travel instead. Clearly a shift in priorities. When I signed up I was unhappy with my career and wanted to do something to "take charge" of it. was very motivated at first but now with the short window left, not so sure.

Same here! Should we form a study group? Buddy up!!!

I need some career advice. I finished my master's degree in international law (B.A.Sc international relations) but I am not sure where to go from here. I always wanted to join a big firm and I've applied to different vacancies in international firms/companies but got rejected from all of them.
Does anyone have any tips on certain job positions or companies where an LLM would prove to be useful with my background?
I'm starting to feel quite stuck in this situation and it's very demoralising.

I’m seriously contemplating taking a software development boot camp. For those who hire new software developers, does it make you stand out if you get your certificate from a university instead of a coding academy (like coding dojo or something)? I noticed the universities are a bit more expensive but is it worth the price to have a university on your resume or does it not really matter?

Hello fishes.
I recently gave interview with amazon for program management , manager role.
I have an MBA from London and currently working as strategic consultant. CCTC is 35 LPA fixed.
What is the salary range I can expect to ask on the current role. What normally is included in the CTC of Amazon.

Currently interviewing for a role at Amazon that is listed as a CW position, but I have direct experience in the product and capabilities this role is seeking, and the hiring manager is moving me forward. What is the likelihood that if I tried to negotiate from a CW to FTE, I would get the position?

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

I have an offer accepted from Elevance 125k (Anthem) and w a good team and seems that WLB would be ok. Also, Amazon hiring manager wants to interview me for a job. Is just a hiring manager int. so obvi nothing guaranteed. Salary if offered will be more than 150k. My question is should I accept the interview and see where it goes? Is it really worth it to proceed with a company like Amazon for 25k+. I live in CA so $ is imp but I do have a toddler so WLB is also imp. Both role are Sr. MGR.
