Postponed wedding etiquette question: my friend postponed her 2020 wedding to 2021, but ended up having a virtual wedding. She is still having the party reception on the postponed date. I joined into the zoom wedding and sent a gift. What’s the expectation on gift giving at the party reception? Thoughts appreciated.

I’ve been lacking in motivation lately. Normally I’m really focused and loving being onsite meeting everyone during a project kickoff. Now, I’m going through a virtual kickoff and realizing how timid I am at proactively reaching out and speaking up during Zoom calls. I’m great onsite and very bubbly, but feel weirdly soft spoken on virtual calls. I miss having hallway conversations onsite that felt more casual. Anyone else feeling this?

Why do some people expect others to be as interested in their kid as they are? Do I really want to spend a half hour of my crazy day to watch your (ppd's) kid sing twinkle twinkle over zoom? Hard no.

Post-UG 🐟: I know that a lot of you are thinking about private equity as a potential next step. This app was helpful to me when I was thinking through careers and happy to answer questions on my experience. Quick background: target school -> 3 years of consulting -> 2 years of PE investing at a large firm; going to a startup next. Generally very happy that I did PE for the learning experience and comp but it does come with some downsides too (rigidity, unpredictable hours). AMA!

I think I’m losing motivation to work. I’m still young and I struggle to get out of bed and start working everyday. I can’t afford to lose my job because I’m on a visa, but I find myself slacking so much everyday. I need to start following a routine I think, anyone have any tips?
