So, I referred someone from big4 to my firm that I connected with online, and the recruiter had an issue with it - want your opinion, read below:

Person reached out professionally, booked a chat, and was well qualified. I referred the person to the hiring manager. Hiring manager thanks me, but replies that referrals are "for people you know personally only. People I don't know dont count".

Just wanted to know if this is best practice? If I have a great potential candidate, shouldn't I refer?

What is considered a “large” caseload in employment litigation? I work at a large L&E boutique law firm and handling about 14-15 active litigation cases in state/federal court or arbitration. Some of these matters are multi-plaintiff and multi-defendant cases, but none are class actions. This does not include any matters I am handling in the charge stage or in pre-litigation. Not sure if that’s a typical caseload or not?

If I just chill on the bench for long will I still only get fired at the end of the year?

Staffed on a team right now that is an SM, M, and me. I find that the SM and M spend 90% of their time doing other things and I am left to deliver our project work. On the one hand, I am okay with this because I am capable of doing it. On the other hand, I’m tired of doing all the work myself and having no one to even bounce ideas off of. I don’t mind driving the work, but I don’t want to do ALL of it. Would be great to have more input from my leads, junior staff to help out, or both.
