My base loc is Bengaluru, but currently I am not mandatorily required to work from office, and have been working from home since I joined Deloitte in July. Should I talk to my manager and go back to my hometown Kolkata and work from there? Staying in PG all day and working from here is not quite feasible for me. Suggest pls. Deloitte India

Ugh I am so sorry OP. I would feel the same way that you do OP. I would feel very left out and almost uncomfortable if people were saying things that I do not understand.
Thanks a lot. It's just really uncomfortable and unsettling.
What "native language" are they speaking? Find someone who speaks the same language and ask them to teach you how to say, "Speak English please, so everyone knows whats being said." Not only will it catch them off guard, you'll probably be Kudo'd for calling them out.
It's a middle eastern language. Pretty specific, I think a dialect even.
I wish i could do this but I'm very rightfully scared of being blacklisted.
I always feel so left out. Now I have taken to not changing my expression when they say anything in their language even if they laugh. Also, sometimes when they ask for my opinion, I'll make a remark about not understanding everything that's being said. I know I'm being passive aggressive in how I'm handling it. But I don't think full on confrontation is the wisest way to handle it, especially as it is a termed employment that needs manager's sign-off for renewal. I am definitely job hunting as I speak but I can't risk loosing this job so I'm playing it cool.
Does anyone have any advise for me? Or have you been in a similar situation and how did you handle it?
