S&O recruiters calling my office number at my current firm.. seems classless

So this job search thing is a lot harder than I thought. You either never hear back, or just get pre-written denial emails. What does it take to get on a call to defend your case?!

So I had HR discussions after tech and managerial round and she said, she will have to get approval from management for salary discussions as it’s on the higher side as per my YOE.

Does it mean they will drop my candidature here and now or do I still have any chance ??

Currently interviewing with Apple and anticipating an offer however, I’ve applied for the same role at Meta. I’ve reached out to a few recruiters on LinkedIn but haven’t heard back. Hoping someone here may be able to help? Not sure how the referral process works but I’d assume that I would have to do that before applying?

Have you thought about why PM interview experience is totally different than the actual PM job ? PM interview goes typically with current domain, design xyz for abc, guesstimate; whereas in actual job you have ‘n’ no. of constraints to build, leadership priority , sufficient time to think etc. What are your thoughts?

Does anyone have a similar experience? I interviewed with recruiters from two of "Big 4". Both interviews went well, and I was told the recruiters will submit my resume to the partners and senior managers for the next interviews. 3 weeks later, I received the rejection letters without the next interview. I wonder why the partners even not bothered to interview me. If it matters, I am a CPA with 3 years non-PA experience and applied for experienced associate positions. I appreciate any insights.

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)

I feel like an idiot. For the past 3 years (26yo now) I have been electing the traditional 401k instead of Roth. I get 25% taken out pretax each paycheck. Given that I’m more likely to have a higher salary (currently 100k now) and therefore be in a higher tax bracket by the time I retire, shouldn’t I have elected Roth this entire time? 😩

Rolling off my current projects, I have 2 options: 1. Join the project which starts in a week but might end by December, looks pretty busy and would certainly have long hours; 2. Join the project that is still figuring out it's contract but is hopeful to start by first week of October. Project 2 has higher flexibility in the role I want and is a year long project. Haven't gotten great vibes from folks on Project 1. What should I do?

Thoughts on calendar being double booked? What are the etiquettes to be followed. Often people double book and it feels like “ my meeting is more important that whatever you have booked time for in yours”. If both meetings are same urgency/importance - what’s the best approach ? What are the expectations of leadership - to throw everything away and jump on to calls based on seniority ?
