This is so true! It's like they're searching for unicorns sometimes. Yes, I get the need for exceptional talent. But demanding a long list of qualifications from someone and then paying them peanuts? Makes no sense to me. The earlier these companies realize that attracting great candidates means offering competitive compensation that reflects their skills and experience, the better for them.

From what I've seen in my limited recent job searching, this is spot on. Companies want the world in terms of skillset and relevant work experience, but don't seem to think they need to pay for it. Bonkers, looks like I'll be staying put for the time being.
With 400+ (or more) applicants to almost every job within a few hours, they can be picky. I’ve also seen a lot of former coworkers who are accepting lower roles just to get a job and benefits again. We’re talking 15+ years of experience taking roles that ask 3 to 5 years of experience.
