Can someone please for the love of god help me figure out how I can pay less income taxes? I only make 88k and I put the 12k standard deduction but I’m still getting taxed 27% of my paychecks! My sign on bonus (20 even) a few months ago was taxed nearly 45%! Excuse my ignorance, but am I doing something wrong? Will increasing deductions help or should I increase the withholdings? So wanna run something by you all. Looking at insurance plans. There are 4 plans that allow an HSA. 3 of the 4 are identical.
500 firm contribution to HSA = ~21/ pay period. Add that to lowest HSA premium plan. It still comes out lower than the out 3 plans. So what am I missing?
