By now I hope you are enough experienced to know what's right for you!
Am at a similar lifestyle as you. I chose a firm paying less but better wlb over a better designation, salary and role. Many think I was stupid to give up a director level role for a much higher salary at a medium indian service firm, give up way higher salary at another product firm as it has night shifts supporting US projects and join as a program manager at a product firm for low salary. But that was my decision based on my goals, family, financial situation etc.
Exact my situation, exp, age 6 months back..I also got company A as infosys but for some reasons I selected company B which is a product based.. its not that I am suffering in company B, but thinking now that infy would have been better.
My offered role was better in infy.. I just selected the product as I was in service based for thru out my carrier and went to product based for a change
Actually it depends on your preference. Being into a startup/ medium level you'll be able to learn more and grow more but on the other hand you have no wlb, lots of responsibility as well as you have to always work with the management directly which again is good and bad both. Also as your package will be higher management expects lot from you including pre-sales, delivery, marketing etc.
On the other hand in mnc you will have good wlb your job responsibilities are shared you will work on a particular set of tasks so getting knowledge on the entire program would be difficult. But you will have a peaceful life, you can spend more time with family not to worry even if you are on bench as cmp will have lots of project to fit you into.
I have recently transitioned from a startup to a mid level firm and I can say you i am very much satisfied as now I can focus on some certifications and learning other things which I was not able to earlier
At different stages of your life, we are suppose to prioritise different things. Sometimes it's career, sometimes it's health, sometimes family, sometimes yourself and your peace of mind.
If I was in your shoe i would choose company A. In my 20s I prioritised my career . Now I am in my early 30s and now I chose to prioritise myself over career.
I have decent salary ( decent enough to fullfill my needs) so I am okay focusing on myself now.
Hope it helped :)
Big MNC seems IBM, I would say big MNC or ask Deloitte to match the offer
if you want stability then Infosys
Rising Star
Can you name the organisations?
Infosys cap in salary for 15 years is 40 lpa...there is no question of matching...even in this 30% variable you do not get..
I would suggest go with Infosys. Atleast u will have job security.
Interested to know one thing, i hope u r with Deloitte. Why u r not continuing in D, as they gave big hike and bonuses
So Infosys is giving u pwfh? That too in written on offer letter?
What things you feel would have been better @Infy
The initial ones seems to be a cause of concern for many @Infy - hikes, variable pay, promotion etc.
But is 40 an age to not look at further growth in IT? And would 2% salary growth an year would suffice for rest of life to meet family needs? Financially you need a good amount of corpus to retire at 60 given the inflation rate
Are you sure Infosys provides any bonuses? They do not give even full variable pay so that you do not get full ctc!! Please provide some examples of bonuses you are talking about

Where did you join?
At this much experience, what is expected from u in ur current role? Managing team, solution architect? Technical lead? individual contributor?
