That happened to me, started looking three months in, jumped ship in ten. The earlier you start looking the easier it is, you can say it’s not a good fit. 6-8 months in it gets difficult.
In a similar boat. Joined a new firm and the client is awful. Looking to move again.
Yeah I’m looking to move. For sure it’s not ideal, but you can come up with a reasonable answer for why you are leaving.
Do they attract more impactful projects and you’re just not on them (yet)?
I ask because I would start with an honest conversation with your manager. You brought me in to do x - get clarity on what the plan could be to get there. If you navigate the conversation well it won’t hurt you prospects or image.
Simultaneously keep looking for greener pastures anyway - you owe them nothing if you find something good go for it! Good luck!
Suck it up and be thankful you’re billing? Loosely find an alternative in the meantime.
