Took it over 10 years ago when there were 4 parts . Was a breeze. Studied from Gleim book for 2 days per part, took the tests and passed all parts on 1st attempt.

I also took the exams and obtained the certification this year. I’m blessed I passed but the review honestly took a toll on my mental health. Some things I could have done differently (to save my sanity lol):
1. Focus on just one review material (e.g. Gleim). Using diff mats is too overwhelming.
2. Create a realistic time table for the units/topics you need to at least cover each day - and stick to it.
3. Read a topic 2x - first for understanding, second for retention.
4. Devote an hour or less of your daily review to practicing answering. Actual exam questions are often similar to the mock tests available.
5. If you find yourself in a situation where you can no longer grasp what you’re studying, then stop and take a rest. I felt guilty when I did this but have realized I have not absorbed anything, so it’s useless.

I studied and took all 3 parts within 9 months while working full time. I think this was my biggest struggle - squeezing in the review time in my spare hours. Really takes a lot of determination and DISCIPLINE *crying 🥹*

Best of luck, future CIA!

Can't really share this with anyone else, so thank you fellow fish for indulging. 3 years in, finally at a point where I can comfortably work 40 hours a week the last quarter+, and still be a trusted team member and major contributor. Normal tasks and collaborations now take me a fraction of the time compared to my first couple years / others on the team. 6 YOE and my TC has also gone up a lot from low 200s last year to high 200s this year. Hope to keep this optimal mix of WLB & progression 🙏

Struggling with imposter syndrome here. Over the past five years at my employer I went from independent contributor as a developer to a more of a Leadership position. what I’m finding though is that I don’t get nearly the kudos or mentions that I used to as an IC. I often wonder if I’m doing a good job or if I’m failing I tend to overthink and read into peoples life interactions. is this common as you enter leadership? Any tips to maintain confidence? I really hope I’m doing a good job

Been doing this nearly 5 years now and just really don’t see how all the effort is worth it. I don’t get the sense that outcomes are impacted by skill level, work quality, time spent. Seems you can make your client’s case worse (e.g., by missing a deadline or some egregious error), but that’s about it. So, practice of law feels quite pointless. What am I missing?
