Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

Say you’re not comfortable
I would say no.
We’re planning an offfsite in august and we’re making contingencies for those that still won’t feel comfortable. I think it’s a reasonable concern and you should let them know. I’d be surprised if they haven’t considered it already.
Tell them you would love to work with them to find a way to join virtually, but you are unable to attend in person. If they pry, it’s a private health matter and leave it at that. You are completely valid in your concerns and I appreciate your standing up for yourself and your health.
Thanks so much everyone🙏
I’m in a similar situation @OP. Sharing my two cents for context not to influence your decision.
Started a job a few months ago. On boarding remotely has been a huge challenge for me—it’s taking far longer to get to know folks outside your core team. I was remote before remote was cool, but always started a job in person for context.
Except I sort of proposed the offsite idea—currently with legal to see if it’s even an option. We’re a fairly small team, but it would mean folks flying to NYC from various places.
I have multiple risk factors, and would definitely distance and wear a mask. BUT I feel like now is the time—new variants are out and I’m hearing the fall will be a brutal flu season.
So for me, it’s likely the only time before Spring that I’d feel comfortable. And I do feel like developing the relationships is business-critical to achieving results in a timely manner.
