Starting at EY Charlotte in FSO BCP. Any reports on this location and practice? Culture, engagements, work life balance, etc. Any comments are appreciated. I'm a recent college grad!

It's a great program and office. I ended up transferring service lines out of Consulting but enjoyed my time there. You will work on very different projects (as is the goal of BCP)

They hire sharp people from their target schools so you'll meet some cool people in your starting classes and Charlotte is sweet

DM me if you have any questions since I was in this exact program and office

like

I would dm, but don't have enough hearts apparently. Thanks for the comment though! If you don't mind why and where did you transfer to? I have discussed with partners my preference for engagements ( consumer banking and corporate banking) and seems I'll get my first pick. So I'm hoping it'll be a good experience.

For some reason a lot of CLT based BCP/TCPs transferred to DC/NYC later in their career😅

like

I was originally hired for tysons,VA but decided to move to Charlotte for engagement variety. Also not a fan of DC/New York. I'd rather travel to than live there.

I’m in the Charlotte business consulting practice. It’s a great location and the people are pretty welcoming

Very cool partners in that location and group.

How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. Some of us have reached out to HR and we’re told to discuss it with the regional director, but the regional director says we’d have to come in early or leave late to block out a lunch break. My commute is an hour each way, so I’d prefer not to make my day any longer. Advice?

When the IRS (e.g., a RO/AO/Examiner) calls or writes a letter… How do you verify that it’s really the IRS and not a scam? I’m new to tax law and I’m worried that I’m going to respond to/answer a scam and give away client info (or my own tax preparer info). I don’t think my worry is unfounded due to the tremendous amount of tax/IRS scam out there but it would be nice to hear from some of y’all so that I’m not so worried about it…
