Just in terms of the YOE aspect of leveling, I would look at positions that ask for YOE in your ballpark (e.g. roles that ask for, say, 8 YOE). Even for firms that are more flexible on YOE, I doubt you'd make it past the initial screen for an AVP role that calls for, say, 15+ YOE.

It's gonna vary from company to company.
At my F200 firm, our YOE reqs have at most 1 year of flex at lower levels and a couple years at higher levels. For example, my role (senior exec 2 levels below C-Suite) required 18 YOE and I came on board with 16, and had to fight to get my level vs being downleveled.
In general, though, I'd say if you're within 2-3 years of whatever they list, go ahead and shoot your shot.
Some firms have YOE reqs that are effectively just suggestions, though, so your mileage will vary, but I think 2-3 is a pretty safe range.
Product manager and engineering team manager are both solid gigs. It might be a stretch for either at a top company due to you not have those specific terms on your resume but with a referral it might work.
I feel like manager is a good title to look for at large/mid sized companies and at startups whatever title you want.
Thank you! Appreciate the advice. Would you classify top companies as FAANG + Fortune 500? Or something else?
What kind of role are you looking to exit to?
I agree with that assessment, I think having strong technical understanding combined with client facing/managerial skills is a great mix for sure. All the best with your search
