Can you deduct 50% of a home office if you use it 50% for business and 50% for W-2 work?

I know you can deduct a portion of a room if only a portion is used for business, but what about splitting expenses based on usage instead of area?

Need some advice on home office equipment and furniture. I have a second bedroom which I plan to place my desk and my stationary bike as we are still remote. I do want to upgrade and get a peloton bike but I am also looking at upgrading to a sitting/ standing desk with an added desk bike. Would this be redundant? Anyone who has a desk bike, do you actually use it while working?

Could anyone recommend a regular (stationary) chair with excellent back support. I'm thinking of something like an office chair but no wheels and moveable back. Does such a chair exist? Spouse and I have to share the office where the office chair is so a nice nice chair in the dining area would be great. I've been using my dining chairs but those aren't comfy to sit in all day.

Guys this not for spreading negativity. Pls answer this pls.

My wife (love marriage) cheated and i found out. After getting caught initially blamed me with silly reasons and later accepted that he is her crush before our love and now got a chance to work in same company so love started again.

Note: she showered me more love in that particular period she was cheating me.

Anybody faced this? Or any idea how would you guys react for such scenarios?

Hi,
I got placed in
Optum . The Cgpa requirement was 7 and my cgpa is 6.6. I have received an offer letter, document verification and all the formalities are done. I have to report to the office. In the offer letter it was written that I need to provide a certificate that I have successfully completed my degree(which I have) on that day. So is there still a chance that my job offer gets revoked.should I contact HR and confirm the same?

I worked at a company for 2 years, promoted 3 times and up for a 4th. However, I was sexually harrassed by an upper manager and the place became a very hostile environment that I had to resign from. It's been 2 years and I have worked at several companies that were toxic and underpaid but did not know it at the time. Lost a lot of confidence in myself and am trying to get it back, what advice would you give to find a great work place and get that feeling of having a purpose again. Thank you!

My daughters step-mom sent me a message two months ago, just saw it tonight. They want to pay off the future obligation owed for child support, she turns 18 in two years. Total amount is $23k. My daughter has never met him. The wife said they think “it would be in the best interest of both parties.” The attorney generals office told them they don’t accept a lump sum payment, so not sure what I can do to facilitate this. Opinions please? It sounds suspicious.

Class of 2020 had it the absolute hardest but ppl don’t realize the class of 2019 moved to big hub cities, lived our best lives, FINALLY adjusted to adulting and then everything drastically changed. Now so many of us who committed to living in big cities are 1) already scared of layoffs and 2) are in a predicament about whether to move home or resign leases. Thoughts on addressing emails as "Hi guys" or "Hi ladies" if you are of the same gender as those you are addressing? To me (as a woman) being addressed as "Hi ladies" seems more personal than something like "Hi Team", but I can understand if others may feel uncomfortable with it (i.e. if they don't like being called out as a man/woman, since gender is a more sensitive topic in general, etc)

Aussie 🐠 here. Be aware that when you see clips/photos of the Sydney central station pepper spray, the police were blocking the main exits and corralling people to platforms 15 & 16 before they started spraying.
I’ve seen a lot of media portray it as “people who refused to leave after the peaceful LEGAL protest finished” (implying that this was illegal and not peaceful) but... why were they at central station then? Maybe they were waiting for trains to go home?
