Fishes, OK so this is true. Wipro is delaying the joining by half a month due to some restrictions or organisational changes & not ready to compensate for that half a month loss of salary. Very rude & absurd behaviour from them. Hence rejecting the offer as such company if u aren't sure when to ask for joining u may revoke the offer letter later on. Hence multiple options in hand is necessary nowadays. Infosys Tata Consultancy HCL Technologies

What are the most boring jobs out there?
Does anyone have any insight into accounting roles at Amazon, particularly in the Arlington/DC area? An Amazon recruiter reached out about accounting roles, but the posts in this bowl are about Seattle. Trying to decide if the culture/wlb/pay is even worth looking into since it sounds like the interview process is intense. Base pay seemed pretty low in other posts, but they were a year old and for Seattle.

as someone who worked in industry after having mostly C corp provision and compliance experience, you need to get some c corp activity on your resume. there just typically aren’t a lot of partnerships found in industry structures and if there are, they’re minimal activity or outsourced.
i know that’s not the answer you want i hear but i just wanted to give some honest insight.
If you are in NY metro area, many recruiters are seeking folks with partnership tax experience in PE/RE/AM industries. I have hard time finding an in house tax role with my corp background😵💫
Tax manager - It’s 10000% your problem. You have to think of what companies are big enough to support a tax department that are structured in funds (partnerships) like you’re used to. I exited big 4 real estate tax group and I’m now at a real estate/private equity firm. Mostly partnerships with some reits as well. Why would you want to switch industries from where your experience lies?
Have you tried searching for real estate firms specifically? Are you working with a recruiter that knows the real estate industry? Unfortunately, your experience is very industry specialized and many in house tax hiring managers might hold that against you.
Unfortunately, if you wanted to avoid being this specialized, you should have left much sooner (like as a senior).
I disagree with the people saying you need c corp experience and that partnerships are too specialized. I think you’re just not filtering for the right industries. PE/Asset Management all wants partnership experience and so do REITs/Real Estate Firms. I’m not sure what city you’re in but in my area there’s lot of these positions around. If you’re struggling to find relevant jobs you can always work with a recruiter to have them help filter for you.
Asc 740 experience doesn't mean you did it every single day. If you did one, you've got enough to get your foot in the door.
That’s crazy because I keep hearing about this “Accountant Shortage.” I’m thinking that’s bogus.
On the public accounting side, there’s more options that I could ever consider. I can find a new firm in a minute. But on industry side, my experience is not appealing.
In your public accounting firm, are your real estate clients so small that they don't have in house tax departments? Or are you servicing clients in other cities?
