Testing isn’t just for QA — it’s a mindset across the product lifecycle.
Quality checks should involve every team member, at every stage.

I came from QA, but I test differently as a PM. QA tests for functionality. Most times, there are test cases with specific tests that are completed. I try to assess from user perspective, sometimes doing what’s not intended. The best insight on this for me has been having real conversations with customers and having them show me how they use the product.

like

Oh, you don’t have full time QA folks? Gotcha.

Here’s my take: I came up through Sales and Implementation, so I live and breathe the customer experience.

You can’t sell what’s broken—and you sure can’t retain customers if your product doesn’t hold up in the wild. As a PM, testing isn’t just about bugs. It’s how you learn your product, inside and out.

QA testers are essential, but they’re not a safety net for unclear requirements or poor ownership. They test for edge cases, performance, regression. We test for understanding.

Want to lead quality conversations? Click every button. Break things on purpose. Know what success and failure actually looks like for your users.

Testing isn’t a task. It’s ownership.
And if you’re not willing to own it, you’re not ready to ship it.

I was recently (in April) fired from a good nursing position that I was at for 5 years. I reached out to my old ADON to get some information on where we had our vaccinations from and she told me that I should come back and the administrator that I had issues with is gone. Is this something I should even consider? I miss my patients and some of my coworkers and the pay is better, but I don't feel like I would really be welcome to come back.

48/M, average health. Few weeks ago I had a seizure out of the blue. First time ever, no family history. At the hospital given lots of tests: MRI, CT, EKG, EEG, blood/urine/COVID tests. Everything came back normal. Since hospital discharge I’ve seen cardiologist and wore halter monitor for a week. All good. Have neurologist appointment next month but afraid no one knows why this happened. In the meantime no one wants me to drive a car. Can this happen again? Can anyone relate to this situation?

So our CEO asked me and a colleague to give a Start/Stop/Continue Mid-year review of our CIO who’s been our Head of Product for a few months (Our Head of Product left because of him when that guy came in)

We have a lot to say and none of the PMs approves the way he operates.

My concern is that it’s meant to be transparent but if we’re honest and he gets called off, he will figure out it comes from us.

Never been in that situation before, is it better to be completely honest or a bad idea?
