McKinsey & Company I am entering in the interview rounds with McKinsey and wondering if anyone had tips, online course advices or materials to share!
Also would anyone be interested or knows anyone to do a coaching session that has already worked in Mckinsey? Thanks! McKinsey & Company @

Have you played around with Chat GPT yet? I used it to help me plan out my last salary negotiation and found it super helpful. It had the right questions and prompted me in the right direction to have a fully fleshed out argument. 10/10 would recommend
I do this too and it’s great!
My approach might be a little different, but in the current market, I'm just looking for a reasonable offer. I want to make sure I'm not underpaid compared to market value and that's about it. After a long period of unemployment, I'm more concerned about an offer being rescinded than I am getting an extra 6k.
If you have been a while without an offer... I'd approach negotiations cautiously. In this market, many companies do not tend to have a lot of money splashing around. And they will have plenty more people wanting the job behind you. So it depends how much you want the job. They won't be offering you something ridiculously low -- depending on the org, the salary has probably been highly benchmarked already. You may get and extra thousand or two with negotiating, but they may also just move right along.
I've worked in HR and know how it works.
So proceed with caution, and on balance with those trade offs I've shared!
I don't think there's anything wrong with negotiating, in fact it's generally a good idea. But it's good to make sure you don't come off as unserious. Be prepared to make a case for yourself, mention some things about the job responsibilities and the anticipated workload and what your expectations would be in those circumstances. As long as you don't come off as throwing out a high number at random you should be okay.
