Thinking about becoming a tech PM. What are the pros and cons of it relative to consulting?

I’m a third year associate wanting to leave my second law firm. My first two years of practice I was at a small firm and left to a mid-size firm to practice insurance defense. I have enjoyed the practice but not the firm. The firm’s culture is toxic. The firm has had 7 attorneys leave in the last year. Is it wrong for me to wanting to leave? Will i give the impression of being a job hopper? Does it really matter?

Hi all! My brother has 8 YOE post his Masters with a US bank in their rates trading division as a software developer- managing, supporting and developing software for pricing trade executions, risk management and reporting requirements for the trading desk. He wants to pivot out of banking and maybe look for an opportunity with FAANG or with MBB/Tier2 consulting. Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?

Currently working at an IRA with great WLB. Honestly I love my job, the firm, and people I work with.

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.

First-year tax staff that started end of Q3, and just had my first year-end performance evaluation meeting. I recently transitioned from a small, boutique agency to a global agency — meaning I went from being on an account team of 2, to being on a team of 10+. I am looking to move because for some reason I am hand-held a lot and given simpler tasks, so I am getting bored and want more challenging / much more fast paced environment.
