Doing a 6-month remote work relocation to Austin, looking for neighborhood recommendations. 28/32 yo couple that enjoys outdoors, walkability, alternative vibes. 50/50 split on grocery vs eating out, don’t drink very much. Currently looking at Zilker Park / West End area, but heard good things about Hyde Park / North Loop too.

How is everyone dealing with starting work at new companies remotely? I personally hate perpetual remote work and honestly, starting with a new team of ppl you don’t know is absolutely awful for me. How do you build an authentic rapport? This cyber stuff creates an impenetrable barrier around who someone is, how they behave. There’s this little show called Catfish, hello?! It’s hard to smell bs thru a screen. Of course I’m not hoping for bs, but the cost of naivete is something I cannot afford.

I am a remote employee working on H1B in Massachusetts, USA. I’m planning to move to a different city, but I’m not sure if that would need a H1B amendment to be filed. I had asked my employer’s law firm for advice on this and they responded with, “No issue as long as your new apartment is within the same metropolitan as the remote work location listed in the H-1B “ I’m not sure what this means. Anybody have better clarity on this topic?

Toronto banks: remote or not? They sometimes post jobs where it doesn’t say it’s remote, but no branch/ location/address either. Then you get an interview and they tell you it’s remote/hybrid(1-2-3days, take your pick)/on-site. So, if you work at TD, Scotia, RBC, could you let everybody know in the comments what’s the deal for each? Are you remote, on-site, hybrid of some sort?

I am worried that I am being benchmarked on a wrong job title.

Sales Manager vs International Manager or should it be something else?

My employer is based in China, while I am in France. I remotely manage a global sales team, with team members from around the globe. They all work remotely as well.

Being remote, and managing an international remote team, I would like to know what should be my job title? Any idea or professionals that I may contact, please?

Thank you.

My bf is a loving guy but he’s not very generous financially. We maintain a splitwise. I let a lot of expenses slide but he’s much more regimented about splitting things 50/50. Over the year I’m sure this translates to a couple K more I am spending. I’m okay with that but idk I’m always left finding his attention to transaction detail off putting. I’ve told him it but he chalks it up to just his way of doing things….
