I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

If you fly and use Uber a lot - yes. The $200 annual Uber credit already knocks the net fee down to $350.
@A1 All solid points... but kind of sad if you date people at are impressed by a credit card.
All depends on if you are using the perks. List them all out, calc their value, choose the ones you use, decide which is better
Yeah agree with M1. Def if you fly alot. And esp if that airline is Delta (for the sky lounge access).
550 - 200 uber credit - 200 airline credit (it says only incidentals but you can redeem as 4x$50 gift cards and then use that on airline tix) = $150
And then if you get the 60k signup bonus then that’s worth at least $600 (def more since 1 Amex point > 1 cent) so you should technically be “good” for 4 years.
And that’s before we even consider the Uber VIP status, Centurion Lounge acess, SPG + Hilton Gold status, Precheck/Global Entry waiver, Concierge, Amex offers, the points, and the look on your dinner dates’ faces when they see/hold your card for the first time 😅
@kpmg2 haha i meant that more as a joke 😅
Not to mention the $200 airline allowance
SA1 airline incidentals allowance*
K2 and A1 - it's nearly as restrictive as your making it out to be. The charge just has to code as your designated airline when it's posts to your account. I upgraded seats to Hawaii last year on United and it was reimbursed.
Don’t upgrade your card, sign up with a new application. Often have 100k points bonus
Just read about it. Definitely upgrading
@KPMG2 @SA1 https://thepointsguy.com/guide/airline-gift-cards-amex-incidental-fee-credit/
So only really worth if you fly AA and Delta
Is it possible to get the 60,000k point offer by upgrading? I know that sounds like a total shot in the dark
Likely not
It’s pretty impossible to get the 100k. I have the SPG and have been waiting almost a year for a targeted offer... still waiting

And no, you never get a sign up offer for card conversion
Yes
What about the Amex corporate platinum? Wouldn’t the firm subsidize part of the fee?
