Not just out of college but I was in a remote job previously and transitioned to a in-office job few months ago. Was best decision I made - remote can be nice for certain things but I need the social interaction, being around people, happy hour, etc.
Pro
I've been remote since September 2020 and I've absolutely loved it. But that's always been my preference. I know lots of people and I go to all the connectivity events so thats when you really get to know people anyway imo
I went through the same thing in college, covid, remote college, and back surgery. I’ve found working 90% remote is fantastic and I’ve still been able to maintain great work relationships but I find most of my social engagement from making time for hobbies that allow me to meet people with similar interests. That’s been the balance for me the last 2 years

Your social life doesn’t have to be dependent on your work environment. You can still achieve that being remote. Just don’t tie every waking second to your job. But I agree with you at the same time about being in the office.
I have been almost fully remote since graduating in 2019. My first job was hybrid and I developed work friendships but we all left the company and all live in different cities so we keep in touch but don’t really hang out anymore. Now I am fully remote and I like my co workers, I think I would find friends in the company if I was on-site but they don’t need me there. I love working remote but I will say, being on-site is a bonus for meeting people.
So long story short if a goal is to make friends or develop tight knit relationships with your co workers look for a hybrid job so you can have the best of both worlds!
