I love my coworkers, it makes for a great place to work and a hard place to leave. Some have spent their entire careers at VSA. It's not immune to agency problems ("boys club", lack of diversity, resourcing woes, etc.) and there's plenty of progress to be made. In terms of work/life balance, that's not something I would call out as a problem. VSA does its best to respect your personal time. Literally the office clears out by 7pm (pitches being the exception). That's not to say we're not working from home... but VSA provides that flexibility.
I second everything VSA partners 2 said. So many incredibly smart people I really enjoy spending time with. But the boys club thing is real. Took me by surprise and can feel like a total throwback to another era sometimes. Some people get that it's an issue; many others do not.
I love it here. However, IBM is declining, and that's a lot of our business revenue and that is super scary, but some other accounts are growing rapidly. It's been RFP city over here. There's still a really fucked up focus on 1 hour allocation, which means you're OFTEN under booked and overworked, but they are trying to change that and there's some new resourcing people on board who are spectacular. For early career though, there's a lot of opportunity to own high value projects because there really isn't a lot of middle management. We just had a leadership change this year, which has improved a lot of things here, but be forewarned that VSA is at a bit of a cross road at the moment which can carry both positive and negative weight behind it. I recommend it if you're up for the challenge and want a chance to control a lot more, just be ready to get in the trenches.
Following. That carrot has been dangled in front of me a few times. 🥕
It's like family here. I've gotten along better with the people than I have at any other agency. Can be a bit of a grind at times.
I interviewed for a position - was the #2 choice - a SMART as F group of people. lots of ex big-agency people who understand what's wrong. with the agency model. nice flat structure. good comp.

That's good to hear VSA1. Much appreciated!
