When is a 3 page resume acceptable?
Bain & Company I have a second round with Bain & Company coming up at the DC office for Experienced Consultant role. Excited, but hella nervous. Recruiter said it’d be 3 separate interviews, all with Partners; 2 case, 1 fit. About 40 mins each. First round was 2 case interviews with Sr. manager & Associate Partner. Been a rough year, so definitely looking forward to this opportunity. I’ve been on the site and going through preparation and materials. Any advice or suggestions welcomed!

Practice by interviewing more frequently than just when you need a job.
Study the role, company.
Practice answering questions about the role and your resume in your head.
These are all what I do and they work well. Something new I'm trying but can't confirm yet is candid honesty.
A year or so ago I got a job that sucked. The people sucked. The work sucked. I wanted to work at the agency, and I did everything I could to get the job, and I nailed getting it, without really considering that I wouldn't want it. Turns out I really didn't.
So I'm adjusting my approach. Now admittedly I don't need a job or even want to leave, but I make a point of entertaining offers, so my level of skin in the game may be quite different to yours.
I'm just going to go in and speak my mind, professionally if course, but candidly. I'm not going to 'try to get the job' and instead lay who I am and what I want out on the table with the goal that I only get hired by people that want who I am and what I want.
We'll see how it goes.
Director 1 has some great points.
Being yourself is important. The people interviewing you are also people. They’re not hiring robots. Talk to them like human beings. Have conversations. Make jokes.
I’ve interviewed tons of people myself. And I’ve always gone into an interview thinking “I hope this is the right person.” They WANT to hire someone. When you look at it that way, it makes it a little less intimidating.
Hey all, just wanted to follow up and say I got the job! Thank you for your help
Do you homework and review your interviewer’s LinkedIn page, double points for looking at their Instagram- you might get a leg up on finding a couple shared interests.
