Anyone in their mid-late 40s feel a rising sense of anxiety about your age in this business and the prospect of “aging out”? If so, what’s your plan to continue your career?

I for one don’t ever want to be in a situation where I’m in my 50s and get laid off in advertising (let alone any business, but particularly this one.)

Is dating someone who works at a client a violation of perceived independence? For reference, my girlfriend of 2 years graduated and may have an opportunity to work at the client I help audit (very large client) in a financial analyst type role. If she gets this role will I get pulled off the engagement?

Throughout my career, I have worked at both “traditional” and “digital” shops. My current agency would fall under traditional but also offers digital services. Our process, roles and skillsets seem way outdated but I wasn’t sure if it was just my opinion or if this is just how it works. For example, we have no CTO or tech leads. Our digital producers feel more like project managers than actual producers. Account Management is just traditional, no real digital knowledge. Feels layered and dated.

Anyone have good examples of how senior leadership supports project teams during crunch periods (especially if they created the situation)? Trying to articulate specific behaviors that will help our PMs not end up being the “deliverer of bad news” that ppl have to work overtime, especially if the same PMs already advocated for their teams in convos with senior leads.
