Have you done substantive work before like the kind you’ll be doing at the small firm? If not then go large. The name, if as prestigious as you say, can open many doors that a smaller niche firm may not.
Guess it depends on what you want out of your career then. Small niche firms will pigeonhole you way more the longer you stay there than a large firm ever will. So if you know you want to stay in the niche field and make a career out of it then I’d stay. If you’re not sure or you know you don’t want to practice that long term then I’d go large.
You already work at the niche firm or you're choosing between 2 opportunities?
I already work the niche firm. Large made me an offer of much more $, niche firm matched it. I neglected to say that in the post, which is obviously an important detail.
