Depends on where you are in life. For example, I’m in my mid 30’s have done the grind, and focus on WLB first. I would go for the PE gig no questions asked as long as it’s something I enjoy doing. That McK job will come with many hours and sure it looks good on the resume, but where are you at in your life priorities to exchange a majority of your time for “prestige” and how does it play in your long game?
Really helpful hearing your perspective on this :) especially since you’re a few years ahead and are likely thinking about things I’m not yet considering
I am in a similar situation and made a thread earlier this week. Perhaps it could be useful to you.

Still in the process and haven’t decided on what I would pick. I have yet to schedule my MBB final round interviews because the PE opportunity popped up.
Had my next round of PE interviews today (technical). Waiting on the outcome.

Again, depends on what you want to do long term. If it’s FAANG to make the 350-400K, you are better off in MBB. If you want to be an investor then PE is better

I would suggest trying your hardest and get both offers first. Then you can decide. Anything else is premature.
FYI - experience in both McK and PE Ops
