Trying to make a shift into a new career/specific job title feels impossible right now. This job market in 2025 feels like the worst time to do so. If you haven’t already had the exact same job title as the one you’re applying for, I feel like you’re not even getting looked at, even if you are a strong candidate otherwise, have connections in the company, and reach out to the recruiter and/or hiring manager. Unlike all of my classmates, I never landed an internship/externship in law school - had only one interview. I was a PT law student, came from a CS background, and worked in IT throughout law school. I passed the bar exam on my first try (Oct 2020) and have only had a couple interviews out of the hundreds of applications I sent out. Any suggestions?

hey, I joined Deloitte in June 2020 as an GPS SA analyst, I just staffed on internal project only providing me adjusted utilization. Now my standard util is 40 and my adjusted is 105... and this project last in another month... by then my standard util might be 20.. will my promotion be affected by this? My target promotion year on TOD is 2022. My manager said we might sell to client and extend this project in September but nothing guaranteed.

According to recruiter, I’ll be a high level analyst and most likely be a C next year. Might not be able to match industry offer cus lack of experience to be a C yet.
