Two things I want to eliminate from my life this fall:

Driving

Running errands

I’m going to sell my car this summer and only use Waymo, Uber, and Lyft.

I’m done. Sick of it. The future is here, so why not take advantage of the perks.

Depending on usage, the cost associated with using those services will largely outweigh the cost associated with owning a vehicle…

I’d probably do a cost:benefit analysis before executing this strategy…

Expectation: Uber everywhere, DoorDash/Instacart for food and errands

Reality: Amazon Soylent and take the bus

It would probably be cheaper for you to just move to a different city

I'm a country boy and this sounds horrible. I agree driving in traffic sucks, so maybe I would get behind this a little if I lived in a big city with good mass transit, but I would never not have a car. How do you leave the city to see family, vacation, etc.?
Honestly though, this is part of what makes America so great. You and I have extremely different life style preferences, and we can both live as we want.
As for the comments about the finance of it, ignore those. Buying a sports car or Suburban does not make financial sense for most people, but they do it anyway. Why? Because they can afford it and they want it. If you can afford it, and it is what you want, then go for it.

COO’s & previous SR. account executives…

I made it to regional manager for a franchise by age 22. Ran a successful financial practice & sold by the age of 33. Took 2 years off and built a health & wellness coaching platform for my wife (medical provider). Then, the last 2.5 yrs, have been a top producer in Saas sales as a senior account executive. I’ve been told I would make a great COO someday and I’m ready to take the next step into leadership. Who/what should I be targeting next?

Which companies have best WLB, least stressed DS/DA roles? I’ve been suffering from some immunology issues and stress from work would worsen it, therefore I want to move to a company/role with good benefit (esp. healthcare) and great WLB (little chance of PIP, etc). Doesn’t have to be high-paying, as long as it can support my life (single) and long-term medical cost. Thanks in advance.

I’m in a little of a pickle but a good one. Offer A. Established “start up” doing well financially and projected to hit profitability. 130k base. Stocks offered, unlimited PTO, and 70% Medical covered. Offer B. Is at a business much larger…90k salary with 10% bonus and generous stock offering. Titles are different which is why the pay is much different. I know some may think it is a no brainer but offer A allows me to grow the department ground up whereas offer B id be apart of to just different

I am currently a medical biller and coder that just graduated. I am currently in an entry level position because I am still studying to get certified. I will have a year's work of exp in July and will sign a contract for another year because my boss is training me in more I don't know.

I'm wondering what the pay is for someone in my position without certification. I live with family and want to afford to move out but I am single and only make $18/hr. Is that standard or am I being underpaid?

Hello! I’m currently a Administrative assistant now working at a major medical system in Baltimore. I’ve previously worked for 10 years as a medical assistant in a variety of specialties and primary care. Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit stuck as to my next step. Part of me want to go into management, another part is saying go get your RN, and the other is saying go into Social Work. I’m all over the place. Any ideas? And how would I be able to cross over to management?

So supposed to head out of town for a long weekend with friends starting the evening of 4/21. My one friend and her son tested positive for Covid on 4/13 and have been sick. She says she is coming on our trip. On the following Thurs 4/28 I need to spend time with my 92 year old diabetic father. Do I go on this trip? I don’t think my friend has quarantined long enough to be sitting with 6 people driving in a van to our location unmasked as well as in the hotel room. Would you go on this trip?

Fellow introverts...can I only advance in my career if I take on a leadership role? The thought of this terrifies me. My current boss hasn't exactly given me the confidence that would reassure me that I'm leadership material. He constantly questions my design choices, which I'm able to defend. It doesn't help that he always presents outdated ideas and throws UX out the window. I know that I know my stuff and keep up with best practices. I have 4+ years experience but am treated as entry level.
