I feel you. Life is left to the whims of hiring managers who don’t care. You have to do what’s needed to offset the stress. Exercise, therapy, friendship. You need to really confine your job hunt time each day to a specific schedule so it doesn’t eat your day. Just know that everyone is in the same boat, and that’s a good thing. It’s hard for everyone
Out of work for 8 months. So broke had to leave my home. Without family I’d be homeless. People tell me my book is great, but it’s mostly spec work.
Look...I’ve seen lots of people that don’t know how to put themselves out there to be attractive for the industry.

Vayner laid me off a year ago and I was out of the game for months. Best advice I can give you is use your network. I’ve landed at a solid spot for more money, all because of excellent leads from people I used to work with. Swallow your pride. Nobody cares you got let go (especially from VM) and they all want to help.
There’s an opening at phenomenon in LA. Go for it.
I got the chop from VM a year ago April. I had a solid six months of multiple round interviews, getting down to me and someone else and then being passed on.
I wound up taking a freelance/contract gig that I didn’t really want and not only did it wind up being fun, working on that client was my in to my next full time gig. Do whatever you can to keep your mental health in check. Reach out. Ask for help, be they leads or even little gigs to keep your cash flow in order. Remember it’s all temporary and none of it is a reflection of you as a human being.
