Got a verbal offer from OW senior consultant level (CDD & ODD type projects). Is this worth to step back (both title and salary) to break into consulting? (i am interested in PE exit) I would like to pivot to post-mba associate roles in MBB or other tier2. Should i just stay and apply with manager title? In terms or salary - it will be ~50K ish low.

Currently an engineer in MCOL area with 4 years experience (post graduating, not counting experience before/during college and large side gigs). Do you all feel that the Health Insurance choice is actually all the same? The coverage is absolutely copy and paste for Bronze to Platinum and the deductible/copay is very similar.
I just don’t understand why we have the illusion of “choice” if the offer is the same and it is really bad (in our case).
Going from $61 per paycheck for 2.5k deductible 75% copay to $500+ per paycheck with 500 deductible 85% copay.

The criticism was more around actually working there than the work itself but is it really that bad? One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.
