I did it after 4 years. If you have a strong litigation background, it is easy to get into litigation positions (even if a different area of law).
I second this.
I’ve done it, albeit a few years ago, and found it to be pretty easy. DM me if you have Q’s.
I think transactional would be way easier to pitch in a return to FL. That may change soon (and it feels like there have been more lit openings recently), but the market is considerably better for corporate and real estate folks. I know of several firms desperate for RE associates in FL. What market are you looking in, OP? And what practice area? Happy to chat about Florida if you want to DM. I’ve worked in several of the FL markets and know of several firms looking right now, including my firm.
I got barred in FL and practiced for a couple years before moving out of state and getting my bar card in another state. After 4 years of practicing out of state I found it very easy to find a job in Florida.
