Want to improve my verbal and written communication skills. I hear reading more would help but I don’t read as much as I used to. So I’m wondering what books would help with that? Hello, after doing some research I believe I’m being underpaid. About 4 months ago HR did a market analysis for my role. They bumped my salary for about $2k. I’m a mid-level Executive assistant with 6 years of experience and currently supporting 5 executives at a fortune 50 company. One C level and 4 Vice Presidents. I’m currently making $61,000 with bonus included. Based on my research I should at least be making $71,400. I have a check in with my boss tomorrow and I am asking for a raise.

I’ve recently started work at a very young tech startup. Coming from a big law background, this was a huge change of pace/environment. I’m having a lot of trouble getting used to how unstructured the startup is. It feels like hire ups give a set of instructions then talk as if they don’t remember, or then decided rules A, B, C and D applies without being clear this was the case. Is this just the general startup environment? If you experienced this before, how did you deal with It?

I spent three full days creating a case study for an Executive Assistant position I’m interviewing for. Has anyone else come across this? Do you think it’s overkill?

How many hours a week are you working? I’m generally clocking about 50-60 and I’m exhausted. I’m busy, but it’s mostly because no one I work with has any boundaries.

The EA/Admin profession used to be a gateway for many people to get their foot in the door and grow into different career paths. For most organizations this is no longer the case. Do you see EA’s/Admins growing into different roles within your orgs? If so, what paths are taken? What steps are taken to get there? What I’d like to learn is whether our profession still has the capability to be a doorway or if others are seeing the same things I am; limited opportunities for development.

Are there any ea roles hiring (mainly Chi but flex to elsewhere) with chill creatively minded environments? I am great at the work but can’t deal with the typical buttoned up seniority bootlicking LOL
