Wanted to address layoffs! A lot of anxiety around this, and I’d be a liar if I said it doesn’t get to me 😅

However, in my weakness I can say to you all that Christ gives us purpose so that work and anything else can glorify Him and add nothing to the perfect worth we have through Christ.

Losing a job may ruin our pride and at the worst make us financially poor. Christ was the literal king over heaven and earth, and He FREELY laid it down on the cross for us to find eternal worth. Love y’all!

So, I just fired my first employee as a manager and I'm heartbroken. He was a great, great person but after 6 months on a PIP he just wasn't cutting it skills-wise. I know he was the provider of the household and his wife didn't have a job since she was raising three young ones. Needless to say, I had to take off because I felt terrible, sick to my stomach. How do you deal with firing guilt? Is that a thing? I can't help but feeling like I did something wrong.

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞
