OP you mentioned some personal issues you were having. As a person who dealt with something similar when I first started consulting (deep depression when my wife left me, first consulting gig out of grad school). I would strongly advise you to build a framework of some kind that will help you navigate those issues when and if they arise again.
@op, WLB on the long run is not a thing in consulting. Sorry to hear how this played out. Try for the industry. Way better in terms of WLB. Consulting is fast paced and pretty all consuming across all firms.

OP is asking for help in his/her job search and looking to connect about new opportunities. Stop grilling him/her about being laid off for setting boundaries.
Thank you!!
Why is there a lay off if work has been crazy? Does it come with a special reason?

OP - I’m sorry to hear this. A few years ago (after becoming a new parent), I started expressing boundaries and that is when my leader at the time called me “difficult to work with”. Unfortunately, it just took this one person to spread this to other leaders and I’m sure it barred me from getting roles. Wishing you the best in your job search.
why were you laid off?
Can you clarify when you got laid off? Referral bonus is like 5k just because there is no enough people around
OP, when did you get laid off? This sounds like a case in 2020 or earlier and not a recent one.
No doubt that you have your reasons not to come back but the firm is hiring super aggressively so I dont think someone can stay on bench for a month
Oof, when was this? What group? I am starting there in January and I am worried my offer will get rescinded.
Wouldn't worry about that. Digital has never been busier than now.
Sounds like you were fired, not laid off. There is no way someone would be laid off in this climate when there’s a shortage of resources across the board. Nonetheless, file for unemployment asap and best of luck finding your next gig.
If interested in KPMG let me know
Not sure about the practice. My experience has been 40-50 a week. Great teams, positive atmosphere. Again, YMMV
Do you have any friends in Accenture CN? They will start hiring in Jan 2022.
yes
If you want to get back into consulting out SF practice at PwC is pretty hot.
I don’t mind consulting or high pressure situations, as long as there’s WLB, which I’ve come to realize isn’t true for most consulting firms. I’ve heard of some friends being able to clock out at 6pm latest but that was a luxury I never got.
PwC2 what’s the situation at your firm?

OP, sorry to hear! What market unit are you a part of? And out of curiosity, how long were you at D?
