A wise old owl lived in an oak; the more he saw, the less he spoke.
“That’s crazy!” “Sounds like he’s an interesting boss” Listen, smile, learn what you can but don’t dig for more dirt or express strong feelings about coworkers. Stay above conflict. Leave before they’re hammered, get drunk with your real friends.
I tell them I need to get some sleep as we have a big meeting in the morning, and then roll over.
Funny but a little subtle🙃
You'd be surprised how easy it is to appear engaged without actually saying anything of substance. Just nod along, sip your drink, and add the occasional comments here and there to show people you're listening. You don't have to get involved ina anything you're not actually interested in being a part of.
So what’s the juicy gossip?
Nod, and move on. Got enough toxicity in the office, don’t need to fuel it for fishbowl posts.
It's actually pretty easy. When people start telling me about other people's business, I simply say "Oh, I don't want to talk about them and what they have going on. How are you?"
👆🏾This is the best reply. If you just keep listening people think you’re ok with it. Don’t be ok with it. “When people go low, we go high!”
Just listen and don't say anything. Listening to juicy gossips is so addicting. Just don't say anything so they can't drag you when things take a wrong turn.
