What’s the progression like at the VC?
They are often flat little groups of people and not much room for long term growth.
I was at LEK on the LS team and the LSS route is fantastic. 2 yrs as LSS where you are the “smart” person of the team, usually front end TA strategy - this is also where you develop consulting skills. Then 2 years as a Consultant, which is where MBA’s come in to the firm. Then you are an EM. But by then you have almost 4 years at the firm and people who came it at LSS really do an excellent job and are promoted quickly.
Why did you leave LEK for OW?
I would personally go for the VC if it's an interesting one, consulting is an easy jump if you have that kind of background
If it’s a reasonably successful VC I’d do that. Easy to move to consulting after - hard to go the other way around.

Yeah VC/GE/PE are all hard to get into from consulting. The reverse is not true
