Perfect Super Bowl spot. Funny, and quick. Don't need to think to get it. Good visual of product benefit.
WHY WASNT THE CAR IN THE SPOT A HYUNDAI ACCENT?! DISGRACEFUL.
🤘👏🙌
It’s everything a super bowl spot should be: big feel, fun and simple. Very much for a broad audience, and will probably make a lot of people think Hyundai’s are nicer and more innovative than they thought before.
Kid. It doesn’t have that smaht pahk.
Does no one realize that Gerry Graf made this spot like 10 years ago for Dish TV. It was for the “hopper”.
You know what the public’s memory is like.
I’m guessing this one wins the Ad Meter.
Accents-nailed it
Like a single SNL joke that gets made into a 90 min movie, this should be a :15
I liked it
It just tells me that no one at Hyundai typed “Boston accent commercial” on YouTube.
If you watch this version on YouTube with captions on its shows everything in Bostonian 😂 https://youtu.be/85iRQdjCzj0
Best part was use of “kid” - which trails just behind “brother” in the colloquial Boston lexicon as marker of a true insider.
It’s like the creative team watched the trailer for Boston Accent before/while concepting.
They ripped it from the “locker room guy” bit on Kimmel, which had JK and CE, and Chris even mentions Hyundai Sonata by name. https://youtu.be/feuNeJewzDo
It works as an inside joke; three lovable celebrities, performing an SNL skit, involving a warmly familiar cultural trope, and an impressive feature demo thrown in for good measure. Would it still work if one of those ingredients was missing? I think not. What’s the idea?
The accents are pretty accurate. Maybe a little too Dorchester at times, but I've heard thicker accents in everyday life. The harbor line was cringy though.
