Swimming lessons!
Do a weekly Saturday morning donut “date” with my girls, usually followed by the park
Gymboree
Grocery shopping. Race the cart around; let the kid walk a little, etc. 2 birds 1 stone.
At that age just let the little fucker run. Going to a park / playground and then throwing them up in the air always made me a fun Daddy.
Zoo. Age group appropriate gymnastics (socialization more than anything). Park. See if your local library has any age appropriate programming. Go out and get coffee (for you, not the baby) and breakfast. Just be outdoors on walks, if there’s anywhere cool. Find another dad with a similar aged kid and have a play date.
Children’s museum or equivalent, if there is one near you.
Also a yearly membership allows entry to a whole bunch of other similar museums too, via reciprocal entry programs. Each year I get a new annual membership to a different kind of place... children’s museums, then science museums, then art museums, then aquariums, etc. but I’ve done children’s museums the most.
D1 has the right idea! Me and my daughter do “Pancake Saturday” every week. We go to a cafe and I get to watch her face turn purple from the blueberry pancakes. It’s the best part of my week.
Watch educational TV
Park, splash pad or Museum.
