Hello! Anyone work at GE Healthcare?
McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.

Meetings that you're left out of, especially ones with uncharacteristically vague titles. Lack of eye contact from superiors is another good giveaway. And when it is imminent you might have weird IT problems suddenly.
Harder in a virtual environment to catch some of these signs of course.
If you have a gut feel, that’s often right
A team of outside consultants came in to sit next to us and see what each of us do in a day “so they could write job aids” for us. Entire teams and depts were cut 4 weeks later.
Also the lack of eye contact from supervisors that knew is real. They were behaving differently in the weeks leading up to the cuts. Lack of eye contact, making weird “nervous” type noises every time they walked past my desk.
Oh and lots of hushed closed-door meetings with only the managers in the VP’s office in the weeks leading up as well. This was out of character.
Yup... Unexplained changes in behavior.
Cleared out schedule
If it’s a true lay off then usually a business reason—merger or acquisition, re-org of team structure, analysis of team efficiency, business struggling economically. Also the one I’ve seen most often is if there have been other lay offs on the last 6 months then they could continue.
Long term assignments transferred to other people
If you're about to be fired, people will try to document their interactions.
Also "do you agree?"
"I noticed you're having trouble with that tool, let me help"
"I noticed you're having trouble with that tool, do you agree?"
I saw some comments about reviews being subjective and this is an example of that
Do you help them improve or do you ask them if they agree and document it? 😂
Also question how much you trust leadership. Will they look out for you?
