What are some things to remember to do when leaving your firm? I’m at EY for reference- I’m thinking of things like rollover my 401k, cash out pension, etc.

Some key contacts you would like to be in touch with, get their emails, cell# etc
Make sure you have given feedback to your counselees etc or highlighted their achievements to their superiors
Offer letter, contract documents, salary hike letter etc
Mobile reimbursement, fitness fund, commuter benefits
Clean your laptop of any personal documents, saved passwords etc
Collect anything still left in office

Wish you all the luck in the world!

Save all your paystubs and other personal documents of the like if you won't otherwise have access to them.

You may not have to rollover your 401k. Explore all options and see what is best. (Leaving it, rolling into new company, rolling to IRA subject to pro rata rules when doing back door conversions)

Make sure ALL the details during your exit interview are 100% right. Vacation day payout, COBRA options, separation date, etc.

Use any unused benefits. Gym reimbursement, discounts, etc

Healthcare coverage will last for the entire month that you leave your employer. Better to leave earlier in the month.

Yep C1! I trying to make my last day the beginning of July so I can keep my health coverage, but I guess I’ll see if my firm decides to cut me sooner

I just hit my lean fire number but am hesitating to pull the trigger, so was hoping to run it by people smarter than me:

- I have a few rentals that bring in ~$1800/mo cash flow, taxes are negligible, Capex incl.
- My paper assets will bring in ~$1200/mo at 3% draw
- I get free Healthcare at the VA
- No plans on kids
- My expenses haven't topped $30k/yr ever
- I could always reenter the workforce if needed (albeit probably not in consulting)

Please point out the flaws here, what am I missing?

A CRO offerred me an internal consulting/biz dev role. They offered 145k TC (20% bump) and slightly better benefits. They also offered accelerated path (6mo to 1yr) to MC. But my big concern is that I've only been with my current company for a year (this is my first job, post PhD). Would this affect my resume in the future in terms of being viewed as "job hopping"?
