Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

I’ve worked with two people who went to booth they were both idiots and didn’t know how to use excel.
Appreciate the datapoint
Kellogg: can’t wait to go to South America for kwest together!!
Booth: hey noob, what’s the anti-derivative of dx/dy
Pro
Went to Booth and kind of agree with this. Lol Def more nerd types at Booth. I think Kellogg courses emphasize teamwork more than Booth, so I think more superior for building soft skills. However, you can get this out of Booth too with the flexible curriculum if you so choose. Booth overall though has more of an independent competitiveness built into the DNA of the student body imho.
I got into both Booth and Kellogg. Ultimately decided to go to Kellogg. When I was admitted to Kellogg they had an alumnus call me and sent me a nice welcome gift. When I was admitted to Booth, they gave me a list of books they suggested I read, including brushing up on calculus.
I have an engineering undergrad and did not want to go to engineering school again. I was more interested in developing management skills and Kellogg fit the bill better.
To be honest, you can get a good marketing education at Booth and rigorous finance education at Kellogg. It’s all about where you vibe with.

Depends on what you want out of the MBA program and what you want to do after. Booth is (slightly) higher ranked and I think has a better brand than Kellogg (because UChicago is more recognizable nationally and internationally anecdotally). Booth is better for finance/quant focus, Kellogg better for more marketing focus. Booth has a much more flexible program than any of the M7.
I went to Booth, got into both.
Pro
Distinction to LEK1 post, Booth’s core class requirements let you choose from a variety of classes whereas at Kellogg everyone takes the same course. Then for both schools electives are electives. But from the beginning, Booth has more flexibility.
Agree with LEK1 that despite having gone to Booth, I think Kellogg is a more friendly/social atmosphere. Not as many academically competitive types (despite also being accomplished academically of course).
I went to Booth and had a couple friends who went to Kellogg. You truly can't go wrong with either one. They're both top 5 MBA programs, both have great alumni networks, and I think the whole "Booth for quant/finance Kellogg for marketing" thing is overblown. No matter what your plans are post-MBA, both schools will set you up for success. If you're deciding between the two, go with the one you feel the most at home at or is the best fit for you.
Seems like the general consensus. Appreciated
I got into both, attended both preview weekends, and picked Booth primarily because I liked the admitted students much more. Kellogg was in the lead for me until that preview weekend upset. I strongly recommend attending the weekends!
Other consideration:
Urban vs suburban campuses. Booth is in Chicago proper, and most students live downtown. Kellogg is in Evanston. This impacts your nightlife, activities, dining and networking. Most Booth students could probaby walk to the Chicago offices of MBB plus big 4, Microsoft, and Meta in 15 minutes, or take the elevated train 4 stops to Google. You can't do that from Kellogg, but then again, looking at career outcomes, proximity may not matter much.
Similarly, Booth students have easier access to more bars, restaurants, museums, activities, etc. Kellogg students could access Chicago too, but it is a matter of a 45 min uber each way from Evanston vs a walk, few subway stops or a fast/cheap uber from where Booth students live.
FT or PT?

i’m currently part time (weekend) at booth. sat in on a class at both programs prior to applying. i think i’m an interesting case because i’m actually doing a concentration in behavioral science at booth but the class i sat in on really sold me on the environment.
That’s helpful. Thank you
