I currently have 13 classes signed up! The more the merrier!!
We have classes CA, WI, PA, KS, TX, RI, MI, Canada, New Zealand.
I have a form to fill out if you are interested! I will email everyone the list probably at the end of the week if not sooner!

Hello! I am looking for two new Texas teachers (0-5 years) who would be interested in participating in a study I am doing as a Doctoral Candidate at Baylor. The study looks to understand the experiences women working in the field of education have had that triggered shame and explore their resilience. If you are interested, click the link below to get started: bit.ly/ShameResilienceStudy

I work really hard to learn how to pronounce my students’ names. I know they see me struggle and not give up, even when they give me the anglicized version to use. I also always call my students by their preferred name, regardless of gender or ethnicity. Some request the anglicized version when I use the Spanish pronunciation.

Knowing and calling students by their name, even if it’s a challenge for you, shows respect for the student and by extension their culture. This is an important ACTION toward providing a culturally, linguistically relevant educational experience to your students.
I do a check in:
How are you doing today on a scale of 1-10 and why? What was a rose and a thorn for the week?
They only tell me (unless they want to tell the class) and I do answer and tell them my response to the question.
