Value Add because it’s rarely an added value but usually extra work that leads to a dead end and the ‘project’ being shelved.
When someone says duly noted or noted, I smile on the outside but inside I’m burning with the blunt coldness of that.
Basically when a company makes it look like they care for their workforce, then keep tossing people aside for cheaper outsourced overseas staff that cannot do the work. Yet we are expected to remain happy we still have a job while upper management gets record bonuses...
The ones that are euphemisms for layoffs… ‘right size’, ‘reduction in force’, etc
Production efficiency
The word "ask" as a noun, ex. - that's a big ask..... UGHHHHH!
I feel your pain!
The term work-life balance. It’s a useless made up corporate euphemism in which most companies throw around to make it seem like they actually care about you as a person.
Work-life compartmentalization seems much more healthy, especially on the life side
I’m gonna have to circle back with you on that.
“I’m not going to drain this slide”
How does one “drain” a slide? Hate this more than “moist”
@Director 2 but there are ways to say it without saying “drain” which sounds so gross
The overused corporate speak phrase “constructive feedback”.
It’s almost always criticism, judgement and personal opinions about petty things. It is hardly ever actually helpful to the situation at hand or useful in “designing a path forward together” and “coaching” as it is framed to be.
“Do you have the bandwidth??”
NO… and you know that. So why are you asking the question, sir?
Anything that dehumanizes you.
Resource management, reduction in force.
Sunset. “That’s been sunsetted.” It would be easier to say we stopped using that.
IDEATION - stop it
“Open the kimono”
This one is so cringe
Forward thinking, alignment, core competencies, stakeholder, goal corridor are particularly cringey.
“Work smarter, not harder “ by the person who neither works hard nor smart. “It’s an art and science.” No, it’s not either
"Leverage" = use
"Bandwidth" = time
"Granular" = detailed
“Move the needle”
when people don't use "out of pocket" the right way. it does NOT mean being away from your desk lmao
This bugs me too lol.
Let’s take this offline.
