Tenured sales folks… you know how it works: the quota goes up annually, the OTE commission stays the same. 50%/50% base to commission comp plan. What do I do this year? How normal are comp-raises when staying in the same sales role year after year (strong performer in top individual contributor role in company)? I don’t want to leave the company but the recruiters are showing significantly better comp… just don’t want to feel like I keep paying loyalty tax!
I'm at a large company in a small team (not hiring) and as a PM (3YoE), I have 9 products (mix hardware/software) and 4 projects under my name. Between support calls, marketing updates, part numbers, etc. I don't feel like a "traditional" PM anymore and instead I feel like I am just putting out fires. I am on a great team/company so I am OK (for now) but I'm seeing videos/posts from other PMs and feel like I am not learning/using the skills needed to advance should I end up leaving. Any advice?
Recruiter at a Fortune 50 company considering law school. For current lawyers who “hate” their job and are looking for an exit - tell me your why. I’ve networked with lawyers and reviews are a mixed bag. My reasoning for pursuing law: looking for a job that requires more critical thinking than recruiting, like the problem solving nature of being a lawyer, and am interested in either employment law or criminal law.
Anyone willing to give a referral or tips for the APMM role? Have 2 YOE in Tech Implementations. Well versed in Google Ads, AdSense, Analytics. Also, a certified Google Cloud Associate. Even a look over my resume would be much appreciated! TIA
I’ve always been surprised to see so many fishies from Big 4 consulting firms here. Anyone work in search marketing (SEM/SEO) or digital marketing for these firms? Interested in learning more about how I could transition to the consultant role.
Quick 15-min $75 survey for those who have a role in managing hospital beds
Recently found out a hiring manager was bragging to a bunch of people at the company about getting me to accept an offer for a must cheaper rate than he expected. He was let go soon after. Justice? Not sure..
I started my firm recently (immigration) and am a true solo. I have experience in a few very specific case types and do lots of research, but don't have enough experience to easily strategize for each consult. I know this will come in time as I do more types of cases and have a background of knowledge to pull from, but I need to grow my business too. I think hiring a very capable paralegal would be the best option, but I'm paying myself 1k a week. I doubt I'd be able to pay an employee. Ideas?
What do I do?
Just switched to a gud org with gud perk, pay, project work but My boss is the epitome of a**h*** reasons-
Onboarded me on a huge project (12 phase proj) with no KT, only gave docs to read from.
He was handling this proj till phase 4 but has completely withdrawn out without proper transition.
I cannot make decisions and my decisions are overridden by him.
I have 2 yrs experience and it's now my onus to negotiate with PPL in VP,EVP position and also handle testing & dev TEAM
Pros and cons about making partner vs in-house or other alternative tracks? Is there truth to the anecdotes about junior partners working more and earning less than associates and does it get better after a few years? I’m at a crossroads of deciding whether to stay the course or start planning exit opportunities.
I’ve got a four-year military commitment commencing early next year. What are the best ways to maintain marketability so that if I exit the Corps, I can transition back to civilian law easily?
Hope you all are doing well

Anyone here work at Google or are familiar with their recruiting process? I have a call with a recruiter tomorrow for an Account Exec role. Looking for tips/advice. I have relationship management experience but not necessarily sales. Ultimately I want to leave a good impression so that even if I’m not a good fit for this specific role, they’ll want to consider me for others.
Hi what should be the salary for senior BA role at fidelity. Cleared the interview. Current CTC is 15 lpa.
Anyone had experience interviewing with LinkedIn Bizops for associate level? Would love to connect and learn more! Thank you
Anyone taken the CELPIP exam recently? My husband and I got a date in feb. what do we need to know about prepping? Books? Online? How much time? Any tips will be helpful!
Some of us drivers in the company we work for are striking starting next Monday. We found out our employer has been paying different wages to everyone, but also some drivers haven't been paid in months and our employer just says "oh I wired you the money, not sure what happened". This is insane!
Went on such a good first date Thursday night, turned into a 72 hour long date w/ a lot of drinking, 2 missed flights, a missed college graduation and southwest lost my luggage. Finally back home and laying in bed thinking about how much i don’t want to work tomorrow 😅
There’s a special place in hell for people that don’t put their weights / equipment away when they’ve finished using it. I genuinely don’t understand how people think it’s ok.
After accepting the TCS offer letter , if I got another higher offer before joining to TCS , then can i ask to TCS HR to give me hike on current offer which i got from another company ? Will TCS give hike on that CTC OR they will just match to other offer ?
Hello fishes ,
How much CTC I can expect for 1 year end user and 1.5 years SAP MM consultant experience..
My Friday gift to this bowl: I couldn't find one master list of all couples and all seasons/spin-offs they've been on so I made one for reference. Enjoy! (this was a great use of my time, I promise lol)
Considering a big career shift from 100% virtual role at a consulting firm to an in-person HR role in DC. Happy in my current role except for the fact that it will only ever be remote, and feel like I need to network/be in person while I am young. Worth it to make the switch and take the risk of leaving a good job for an unknown one?
Happy long weekend! I didn't know there's such thing that people ask for likes to be able to DM until now. ISO remote data science in Canada with 5 yoe in public health analytics uses SAS SQL and Tableau, naturally good at spotting problems and optimizing things I work on, a bit of python background but can pick up really quick. Possess common sense (lol), knows when to ask great qs. Comment or DM if you have something that might be for me; if nothing, like my AI drawing to help! ;) Cheers
If anyone has experience in Cyber Threat Hunting and looking for an opportunity in Deloitte, please ping me.

Need espresso beans suggestions. I’m into plowshare (uws), Taylor street, and Gregory’s (nyc). In that order. Didn’t like illy medium roast. Need something more costa rican+available via Amazon.
Anyone have any professional development/leadership books they’d recommend? Doesn’t have to be lawyer or in-house related specifically, just something you found helpful. I just finished Deep Work and found some aspects helpful, but others not applicable to in-house counsel life.
My wife is a Software engineer - QA with 2 Yoe, now we are thinking to move to Canada, can someone please guide us on which 2 year course can she pick (for student visa), is data science related course a wise decision? Or how to find a QA related PG program.
Preferably in Victoria, British Columbia
The Firm appears to be walking the talk when it comes to Juneteenth. Half day today and Monday off! I wonder if Bain and Boston Consulting Group plus the Big4 are doing the same or similar.

Additional Posts in New Business. The good, the bad, the ugly.
Has anyone ever attended one of these events put on by companies like Richmond events? These are the events where they invite CMO types and agencies and other industry suppliers get one-on-ones.
Have any of you ever brought in someone to do presentation design training for your agency. Not public speaking, but making the actual deck more interesting? If so, who?
Do you have specific New Years resolutions that relate to biz dev? Would love to see them. Im going to post something of value on linked in each week in an effort to grow my familiarity with folks in my network. For context we are a small production shop with very little in the way of a social media presence.
I’ve had bad experiences with New Business hired in the past. As in, nothing happened over 6-12 month periods bad. My agency (independent national player with Fortune 500 clients) is asking me to help search for a dedicated resource to business development. What should I be looking for and what should the agency’s expectations be? Thank you!
I've been starting to work more in new biz at my agency and the president said in a meeting this afternoon that he wants to increase our close rate to "at least 50%" once we're at the pitch stage.
Curious about the biz dev career track. Have you stayed in biz dev your whole career? Or did you start in biz dev and use it to move into another role? What did you move into and how?
Anyone here have any advice for outsourcing new business? We’re an 18month old, busy design consultancy. I’m getting tied up in delivering the work and the pipeline suffers.
Are you doing cold reach outs? Working only known connections? Or employing an automated marketing system? How you getting bid opportunities? We work connections and a lot of cold reach outs. Trying to get automated marketing of some type up and running.
Does anyone know where to source an updated list of search consultants. My 4A’s list is terribly outdated.
Hi all! First : shout out to the folks who sold the super bowl clients! Question for all. What tools are you using for biz dev? For finding clients specifically. We are a video production house so our needs may be different but we want to grow direct to client work as well. I know of winmo, agency access and agency source. Any other online tools you are using? Thanks!
What kind of digital (design, platform) RFPs are you seeing out there recently? Looking for some digital new biz trends. What keeping digital marketers up and where are they investing in 2021?
Anyone know of or use a good pitch strategy guide/template that helps focus and structure the final deck? Any best practices you could share would be appreciated. Thanks!
So I'm at an agency and 80%+ of my time is new business. Pitch, win, set-up/semi-service until we get hires, move on to next pitch etc. (w/ fair share of losses too, of course). But I'm burned out. And while I'm valued, I don't see a return on my investments: personal time, my heart (I'm all in) and professional development. I get rewarded with small spot bonuses sometimes, but not a commission. So do I try to pivot to a real bus dev position? I feel confident I could. Anyone seen this done?
