What is a life lesson you've learned while working in finance? Mine is very basic but years ago it taught me how to cultivate and maintain a healthy credit score and a healthy budget. It has made a big difference and will continue to make a big difference for my life trajectory.

The importance of your credit score was definitely one for me. I never would have learned it outside of my industry because it wasn't something anyone ever talked about growing up.

I feel like I learned a similar lesson. I used to think that being good at money was this scary, mystical thing that only wealthy people understood. But working in finance has taught me that money is actually not that complicated, but it is a lot more emotional than people realize.

Avoid high interest debt. I never expected credit card debt to be so dangerous

Hey fellow Disney Lovers,

I generally have a few lessons in which I can use Pixar shorts to teach students how to identify and discuss literary signposts, how to identify and explain the development of theme, character traits, and other narrative elements. What are some of your favorite shorts? I am trying to incorporate activities where my students get to choose their own clips for independent practice with these skills and need a variety to draw from.

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)
