What is the best way to demonstrate proficiency with Python (and other more "real" AI/ML technologies) to help move from an RPA team lead role to one in analytics/AI?

Already have some programming skill, but no professional experience. I have hobbyist experience, and could make a portfolio on github or something. Or I can just list Python in my skills as Intermediate, which is probably a stretch.

RPA is fine and I can easily get a cert or something, but I think ML is better long term.

RPA is a temporary solution for a long term issue. I am in a similar situation as you I know that the future will be cloud/ API Automation and Coding. UI Automation is a bandaid and should become a niche for a few cases like fully on premises infrastructure.

like

When I came to that realization I switched from UiPath to Power Automate. It’s API first and allows me to focus on the solution architecture since it’s a lot less coding overhead. I see a future where I can deliver a complex solution together with an AI/ML SME where I do all the grinding and they optimize the AI pice for the solution.

Send me a DM - I can help here.

Apparently I need to earn more hearts first

If you build your python skill sets you can build a github portfolio to showcase. All pythoon courses on ML shows you how to build one. Not sure why do you have to dm someone to get such a trivial advice :)

Staffing within your firm? You have to walk the talk, but first you have to talk. Network and show people that you are interested in that area they will check you out and if they like what they hear from you staff you.

I have a promising interview at a relatively large law firm in my area (+100 attorneys) next week. The position is for a transactional role in their real estate practice group, and they are seeking someone with at least 2 YOE. I have a bit over 7 YOE with a strong real estate/commercial lit. background. Over the past two years in my current position, I've been doing a lot more transactional work. The split is around 50% transactional and 50% lit.
