Hi everyone, I have 2 years of experience in a service based industry as a Java developer, and I am eager to work hard and switch to a reputed product based organisation, but I am not getting proper time to study and practice data structures and algorithms, as I have so much to learn and understand things which are related to my project. Any suggestions would be appreciated and I'll try to inculcate it. Thanks in advance! Amazon Oracle Samsung Microsoft Cisco Salesforce Arcesium Uber

Excitement and anxiety can co-exist.
Like when you ask someone on a date.
Or you’re buying a home.
Or when you’re on a job interview.
If you’re excited and anxious about your interview, but you only focus on the anxiety, you won’t do well in your interview.
Let the anxious thoughts go.
Focus on thoughts that excite and inspire you:
Wins from past roles.
A better title.
Higher compensation.
Positive thoughts will support you during the interview.

Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?
Can anyone help me understand this better?

Are you fucking high?
(seven year Army vet)
Pros- great bennies, free school, best friends you'll ever have. Cons- shitty food, spending time in the worst part(s) of every country you go to (including here in the US), getting shot at / mortared / bombed
Unless you go into the Air Force. There are no downsides to the Air Force.
I'm late 20s thinking about flying helicopters for the army
Oh, and you have to give that up too OP^ 🔥💨😤🙃
Yeah, Acc1, leave the advice-giving to those of us that can speak from a first-person perspective.
I come from a family of men and women who have served, and they wouldn't let me join. It ain't all glitz and honor. Honestly a lot of it is bullshit and risking your life for bullshit reasons.
Join active duty. Don't try to do National Guard and/or reserves and work in consulting...one or both will suffer. You won't be the best at either.
I wouldn't ever call serving your country idiotic OP, but unless you have your heart set on flying helicopters I wouldn't suggest pursuing it. The reserves are not an easy place to have a career like ours, especially with the combat and humanitarian deployment schedule of aviation units. Most of the people that stay in work for local / state / federal governments or have an otherwise flexible profession.
My family tried to not let me join either A1. Then they realized I was a grown ass man and that I could make my own decisions and draw my own conclusions. Tell us more about what it's like to be in the service for OP's sake.
20 year retired Marine officer here - doubt there's going to be a war anytime soon. Show of force and small actions here and there? Sure.
Make sure you're joining for the right reasons. You're not gonna make a lot of money, but the work can be very rewarding and as someone said before you will make some of the best friends you'll ever have. Good luck either way.
Reserves are cool if your project isn't awful.
Aviation is cool, but it's a big time commitment. Frequently more than the one weekend / month and two weeks/year. Your initial training will also be more than a year. 29 1/2 is the cutoff age
Just off a full career flying jets. Reserves now. Regret not a thing. A1 has no idea what the real world is like.
Big commitment for flight school. I went through navy version and it was 3 years.
Being surrounded by mindless Trump supporters, most ridiculous bureaucracy you will ever see, but you do get to see chaos theory at work- kind of amazing. 6 yr Army National Guard Vet - Infantry
@OP, if you're dead set on it, talk to the Military ERG lead Judy kipfer who can give you good advice. Would also consider transferring to AFS as the less hours and more military friendly environment may be helpful. I will say that ACN is very supportive of its reserve population.
My family fully respected me as an adult, they just knew that I was joining to make them proud and that I had a naive view.
Best thing I ever did. ACN was super supportive - be happy to answer any questions if you want to post a burner.
I'm glad I saw this topic come across. I'm joining the army reserves myself.
