How is the work life balance in Citi?
Here is the scenario: Have 2 offers from IT MNCs and 1 from Citi. Citi's offer is the highest. Almost 5 lakhs diff in the fixed component. Although money is important, but I am also seeking a little balance with life. I was previously in ZS Associates and to be frank, life was hell. I am not looking to relive that phase again.
What are the daily actual working hours?
Shall I join Citi or let go it for a lower package offer?

Phil Night has probably one of the highest salaries for someone that went to industry and is not a partner per your specification

Associate - Your question is not formulated in a way that will get you any useful responses. There are too many variables that are involved making an overall industry average useless for most purposes.
What good is it if I tell you the average salary cap for a CPA in a HCOL is $120,000... but the actual range that make up the average is as low at $48,000 and as high as $350,000?
Help us help you.

M1: I agree that $120k is helpful because that’s probably what you can expect as a max as an individual contributor with significant experience.
Once you get past individual contributor it’s really hard to say.
What do you mean where does an average salary cap out? By definition you can have a salary higher than some average.

$200k.....complete guess, I hope this helps
The band is so wide it wouldn’t be helpful. Is this person in public accounting or an accountant in industry? How many years of experience?
Generally for the average accountant who’s been through public who either transitioned to industry or to high enough position but not partner

Okay—I’m assuming you mean someone with average ambition and average performance as well. In those cases most people who leave at senior stay at senior.
You’re looking at 95-110k.
Obviously not everyone does, but the person who is a senior accountant for 30 years and then retires is a thing.

It’s pretty common. Get a family. Realize that $95k is significantly above median household income and you’re completely comfortable.
You’re an average performer who doesn’t care about titles or managing people. You don’t want the stress of manager and above. Stay at senior for 30 years and make more than most two partner households put together.
