Hi! I have recently taken a step back from my Doctorate in Physical Therapy and am trying to find my next move. My family keeps recommending medical sales, my bank account recommends finishing the degree that cost me an arm and a leg, and my heart is conflicted in so many areas of interest - PT, Psych, sales, etc. I am currently working as a patient care technician but do not see this as my end goal. So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. Because I am able to “pick up and go” I’m open to opportunities and locations. I’ve never worked with a recruiter but was hoping I could get some recommendations!

Is CMA worth getting after getting the CPA? Or is it better to get the CFA. Also don’t have much finance background so I don’t know if I can pass the CFA will require a lot of hard work. Interesting in hearing people’s thoughts.

I have no plans in leaving PA anytime soon but I figure maybe I should look into another certification that holds value and makes me more marketable compared to my peers. Appreciate any thoughts and advice.

When you recruiters say at the end of a 15 min call.
“I will get back to you by the end of this week” does that really mean “your not right for this position”? Because this whole thing is a waste of time. I’ve did these calls with 3 recruiters and is yet to hear back from someone. Today would be the 4th recruiter that I’ve spoken to. Does this practice annoy you guys just as much as it does us? We use Deloitte India for a number of parts of our delivery. Recently I have seen some unethical practices that violate labor laws and do not align with Deloitte principles. My manager says it isn’t my problem as they are a vendor but I can’t help thinking I have an ethical responsibility to do something. Any advice as to how to approach this without being fired?

How does one go about a resignation mid-leave when you would start the new job before the leave ends? Two weeks notice or just say I am not returning effective the day of the new job? Feeling really torn between fed loans and private loans for my MBA. Rates are better (and no origination fee) with private and very likely won’t take advantage of the protections offered with fed loans— but after seeing how uncertain the world can be with COVID/financial crisis, it does make me take pause. Should I just do federal and then refinance after working for a bit post-grad when I’m feeling more stable/secure in my finances/career?
